Animal Medical Center of Lawrenceville is a full-service Veterinary Hospital that is looking for a dependable, energetic kennel assistant to join our team! Evening, weekend and holiday hours required. Kennel assistants are responsible for all aspects of animal care, as well as custodial duties. Primary kennel duties include, but are not limited to, receiving pets from clients at drop off, releasing pets to clients at pick up, feeding, walking, basic grooming (bathing/brushing), record keeping of pet activities, maintaining cleanliness/sanitation of cages/runs/wards, maintain laundry, sanitize food bowls and litter boxes, grounds maintenance (poop scooping), reporting any abnormal health condition or behavior to medical staff. Secondary kennel duties include ,but are not limited to, maintaining cleanliness of reception/treatment/grooming (sweep, mop, clean windows, etc.), assisting medical staff with restraint of patients, stocking/rotating pet food. Applicant must be detail oriented and strive to provide only the most exceptional care for our boarding pets. Applicant must be able to walk/stand for extended periods and tolerate barking in kennel environment. This position requires lifting and carrying pets and food bags up to forty pounds. Minimum 6 months of professional experience handling dogs and cats preferred. Experience handling exotics/pocket pets a plus! Must be able to interact professionally with clients and provide exceptional client service.
Additional Salary Information: Hourly pay commensurate with experience level.
