Four Paws is looking for (preferably) an experienced veterinary professional to be that first face a client sees - the receptionist. Therefore this individual must be friendly and have excellent communication skills. They must be a team player, but also be able to work independently with confidence, be organized and efficient and be able to multi-task.
Customer Service is the number one job of every Four Paws employee. Receptionists answer phones and schedule appointments. They take messages and answer questions. They must be able to type, file alphabetically, and computer experience with Avimark or similar veterinary programs is preferable. They are professional, accountable and able to show compassion. They are responsible for checking in appointments, must be able to review medical records and discuss patient needs/recommendations with clients, clarify the needs of the client and their pet, and escort them into a clean exam room to see the doctor. They must be able to invoice and manage financial transactions. While Veterinary experience is preferred, an individual with customer service experience and an interest to learn would certainly be considered. The ideal applicant is one who is reliable, who arrives on time, is honest, energetic and trustworthy, who thrives in a busy workplace, and works well with clients and also with their fellow employees as a team player. We are looking to hire 1-2 part-time employee(s), tho full-time may become possible. While we prefer candidates who are interested in long term employment, we are also well aware of the recent hurricanes close to us and realize there may be individuals who may not be able to return to their homes, or possibly their jobs and we would certainly consider them, knowing it may be something of a temporary situation provided the individual does have veterinary experience that would minimize their training period.
Four Paws is open from 8-5:30 Mon., Tues., Wed. and Fri. and from 8-12 noon on Thurs. and Sat. We prefer to discuss salary and benefits during the interview.
Employee must be able to work at least 2 Saturdays a month. Light cleaning is involved. Individual should be able to lift approximately 40# unassisted. Employee working morning shift must be able to be at work promptly at 7:30 am, if working the afternoon/closing shift, must be able to stay til 6:00 pm.
