Northlake Veterinary Surgery is a veterinary surgical center located in Clarkston, GA that treats dogs and cats with non-critical care specialized orthopedic, soft tissue, and general surgery needs. This is a live-in position designed for a motivated individual attending school in the day with the need to work and study on nights and weekends. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administration of medications/treatments as prescribed by our veterinarians, surgical instrument cleaning, upkeep and cleaning of patient housing areas, assisting in general upkeep of the hospital, and assisting our surgeons/veterinary technical staff with patient care. Applicant must be comfortable with restraining animals and administering medications. Previous experience in a veterinary setting is required. Work hours include shifts on evening, nights, and weekends. A large portion of work hours involves being in-attendance at the hospital for intermittent patient monitoring, treatments, and cleaning responsibilities. Evening and weekend hours provide ample time for study. A minimum base pay of $488/week will be guaranteed. In addition to base pay, a private room with with private bathroom are provided. A shared communal kitchen/dining area is also provided. The room and utility costs (water, electricity, heat/air conditioning, high speed internet) are provided by the employer. A private mini-refrigerator is included. No pets preferred. Inclusion in our employee health insurance plan (we currently pay 100% of health insurance premiums) is provided after 3 months of employment. Participation in a simple IRA plan is available after 90 days. We are a drug free work place.
