Critical Vet Care has an immediate opening for an Emergency Veterinarian interested in joining our 24-hour emergency and multi-specialty referral practice serving the Sarasota Southwest Florida area.
We are located in an affluent part of Florida, so our clients often seek progressive treatments for their pets including advanced diagnostic work-ups. Your support will be provided by a boarded surgeon, a boarded neurologist and three other ER doctors in addition to a team of highly skilled staff members. Between our staff and doctors there is a strong sense of case sharing and communications which is facilitated by hospital wide rounds each morning and evening. We have a strong ER service, with experienced ER veterinarians in the practice every evening, overnights, and weekends. Our area in Southwest Florida is recognized for its cultural and environmental amenities, beaches, resorts, and connections to the Ringling family circus. The Sarasota area enjoys the best in a variety of amenities including many pristine beaches like Siesta Key Beach which is a gateway to the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We have many highly ranked golf courses as well as sporting venues, special events and community festivals.

Skills and Qualifications Skills and Qualifications • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university with the ability to become licensed to practice in the state of Florida. • Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude. • A strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Robust diagnostic skills, compassion, and communication skills are vital.
General Responsibilities • Establish a good rapport with referring veterinarians, including delivery of timely and professional communication about their cases. Assist referring doctors in their professional growth and education through recommendations and interaction on referred and shared cases. Participation in RACE approved Continuing Education events with the local referral community. • Assist in the development and training of our paraprofessional team to ensure that CVC deliveries the highest quality care with exceptional client service. • Help promote the services of our specialty practice through a variety of outreach programs including hospital visits to the referring hospitals and by answering all calls from our referring veterinarians promptly.
