We are looking for an experienced and personable small animal veterinarian for a full service, AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Sarasota. The position is for our Crossings location which has been servicing Sarasota since 1991. We are in the process of building out a new stand-alone facility and the project is scheduled to be completed by May of 2017, so this is an amazing opportunity for a well-qualified small animal veterinarian to come in and grow the new location and even help design the new layout. The hospital has been operating for 25 years, so there is a stable client base who will follow us to the new location. Our location is in a growing area near Lakewood Ranch and the University Town Center, and just minutes from beautiful beaches, waterways, and downtown areas.
Our practice is a 1-doctor practice right now, but we feel with the visibility of our new location that will change. The owner works at the practice 1 day a week, so the doctor will work 4 days during the week and rotate Saturdays at our Bay Road location. We use the Pro-Sal compensation method, which gives a guaranteed base salary with the opportunity to make more. With the Pro Sal method, a good full-time vet makes over $110,000 a year at our Crossings location, which is what the current associate is making there now. We also offer to cover half of your health insurance premiums including family coverage if applicable and pay for licenses and association dues with a $2,500/year stipend to be used for continuing education.
We have the best staff in Sarasota and employ only certified veterinary technicians with experience. We do not tell you how to practice medicine. We require that you have the ability to think on your own and make decisions confidently. That being said, you will have 2 veterinarians with many years of experience to consult with on tough cases. Experience is required (at least 2-3 years). We are a general practice that concentrates on all areas of internal medicine. We use all diagnostics available to bring cases to a successful conclusion. Our doctors perform routine soft tissue surgery and we have doctors who are versed in various orthopedic procedures including ACL rupture and fracture surgery. You must be able to perform soft tissue surgery, but we do refer more difficult cases to specialists at times. For more information on our hospitals, visit: http://bayroadanimalhospital.com
