SoBran, Inc. is seeking a full time Training Support Specialist for our facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
OVERVIEW: Responsibilities of this position are that of a Training Support Specialist for the Animal Care Project.
The function of the Training Support Specialist is to ensure that staff assigned to each position is trained and proficient in such a way that the work is accomplished in accordance with SOPs, policies and guidelines associated with the expectations of their position. They are to serve as a subject matter expert in all areas of the facilities. This person is expected to be familiar with the day-to-day activities, personnel and issues within the facilities. We expect the Trainer to be forward thinking and create and assist in developing plans to enhance the learning abilities and performance of the staff working on this contract. The Trainer must possess strong verbal communication and teaching skills. The Trainer will assist management in the efficient allocation of the budget, write and maintain reports and develop and maintain an effective relationship with the client.
Understand and follow all SOPs and Quality Assurance Standards
Individual will provide both new hire orientation training and AALAS training
Assist in the development and implementation of a facility wide in-house training plan/program for each position on contact
Individual will develop, review, conduct, and report on laboratory animal skill training as well as maintains training reports in accordance with SOPs and applicable guidelines and Federal regulations
Conduct weekly training sessions for each facility including the animal care and support staff. Training is to consist of hands on demonstrations, instructional classroom or a combination of these.
Individual will also provide new hire orientation and AALAS training
Work with the Project Management staff to identify and prioritize topics for staff training
Individual will develop, review, conduct, and report on laboratory animal skill training as well as maintains training reports in accordance with SOPs and applicable guidelines and regulations
Assist in monthly safety training sessions for all staff and monthly management training and supervisors
Assure that each staff member is trained/proficient in the current SOPs required for their position
Provide necessary re-training and cross training where and when needed
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Schedule: All employees are expected to perform their duties as assigned. You will be required to work on the weekends as scheduled. In addition you will be expected to work extra hours during an emergency situation if any unexpected situations arise until work is completed.
Required Education: Must have a B.S. and AALAS certification at the LATG level
Required Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in laboratory animal science. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
