Are you searching for a meaningful job where helping clients and pets are the number one priority? A job where medicine and surgery occupy your time more than production quotas and profits? This is the job you have been looking for then.
We are a low cost, full service practice that welcomes all clients, regardless of the balance of their checking account. We offer clients innovative solutions to medical and surgical issues that allow them to still care for their pets, without mortgaging their house to do it. If you have become disillusioned with the profit driven standards in most practices, then you should consider working here.
We believe in excellent medicine and surgical technique, and the only way to do that and still be solvent is to focus on making the practice ultra efficient. We do not offer lower cost by offering substandard medicine or surgery. We do everything from routine vaccinations, to orthopedic surgery, to chemotherapy to reproductive services(for dogs anyway). We are open to new treatments as long as we feel capable of performing them in a competent manner. We do not automatically refer challenging cases, although referral is always an option should the client choose this route.
We are a mixed practice, but primarily small animal. We see dogs, cats, rabbits, sugar gliders, pot bellied pigs, goats, cows and horses. We have neutered skunks and gelded Alpacas. If you want variety and challenge, this is the place.
Did you dream of being a vet the way vets were meant to be? Full of compassion and dedication? The type of doctor who your clients wistfully wish was their own physician? Then this is the place for you.
I know this is a hokey ad and perhaps there will be more laughter than actual response, but this practice is a special place. We are looking for a special vet to join us. Compensation will be more than adequate based on your experience and skill set. New graduates are welcome and will be mentored to become truly efficient and competent veterinarians.
Must have at least an aptitude for surgery. We have a very heavy surgical volume and skills must be developed within the first few months with the practice. Candidates will be mentored and actually taught the tricks learned over 20 years of practice(you get to learn from my mistakes!!). Must be willing to multitask and delegate responsibility. Our staff is willing and capable of doing many things for you. If you are to be successful here, you will have to delegate to the staff and treat them in a manner that makes them want to work for you. Computer literacy is a must--a familiarity with V-tech would be useful. Excellent communication skills needed for staff and client interactions, both written and spoken. So cliche, but successful candidates must be team players. Must be punctual. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated at this practice--we don't have time for it.
Large animal experience is not required, but a desire to at least become familiar with horses and other large animals will make candidate a more likely success.
Above all, candidate must have an undying curiosity about all things medical and surgical. Candidate must be willing and able to look up topics they are not familiar with and formulate a plan for action. Although mentoring will be provided, candidate will also be required to have personal initiative.
Additional Salary Information: Starting salary based on experience and skill level. Pay is not based on production as a mathematical calculation, but ability to produce is considered when pay is offered and reviewed.
