Do you feel like you have been duped into dreaming of a career that is not possible? So many demands on your time and your knowledge! Your student loan debt so high that you cant actually enjoy anything because you fear failing to be able to pay your bills and make decent living? Want to spend time with your family and children but you have to work too many hours to make those payments? Wanting to love it but wishing you didn't have to do it but don't know what else to do? Well, maybe there is hope if you are willing to compromise. Maybe there is hope for doing what you love in a place that you will learn to love! Maybe, just maybe you can have your cake and eat it too, well, most of it anyway!
Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital is looking for an associate or even two. Full time, part time, some of each we are willing to work with what you need. We are a mixed animal practice in rural southeastern Arizona and we do mean rural. We are two hours from any big city but honestly, that isn't a bad thing! We have a great community that is small and supportive and quiet and perfect for raising a family outside the busy, crazy of the big city! Low crime rates and sunny weather that encourages outdoor adventures in the mountains and lakes all within an hours drive from us.
We are 80% small animal with digital x-ray and in-house blood machines and cool dental stuff and new ultrasound and even an endoscope as well as laser therapy. You know all the toys you want but think are only available in the big city practices, well, we have most all of them and if you really want something we will definitely be open to adding it in to our practice.
We are just finishing up with a brand new equine barn facility with seven inside stalls and inside stocks. We have a fully stocked mobile unit and awesome wireless digital x-ray and ultrasound as well. Again there are a lot of other cool toys and more can be added if necessary. As soon as the barn is done we will be adding a small cattle working area with chute and pens so we can really be able to treat anything and everything that needs our care. There is much room for growth on the large animal side of things it is just a matter of finding someone who wants to invest their efforts and knowledge and the time it takes in building it up.
We have an awesome staff and the absolute best clients with a few assholes thrown in to make us appreciate all those who aren't so bad. We serve a very wide area and are truly non stop busy. This is a practice that will allow you to develop all the skills or use your skills without having to send everything to referral because we are rural and with that comes low income and our clients just want us to try to do our best and that allows us to really get to do a lot of practicing! It truly is the very best kind of practicing of veterinary medicine just like Jame Herriot!
We realize that we are in a less than desirable location but what we lack in access to big city living we make up for in so many other ways. Very competitive salary, student loan payment assistance, all the bells and whistles from 401K, insurance, dues, continue education, vacation, hours worked. We want you to live your dream job and we know that if you are willing to give a little on location we can help you realize your dream.
Sometime the greatest opportunities are over looked because we look to closely at the things that don't matter. We are a practice that gives everything we have to the care of not just the animals that walk in but the people who own them! We believe in kindness to all and have many programs to help those who are less fortunate still be able to afford basic care for their beloved animals.
We are looking for a DVM associate who desires to practice veterinary medicine and all its benefits in a rural community.
