We are looking for an experienced and outgoing person to add to our busy team! Our clinic is always growing, so we need someone with a strong work ethic who can work in a fast paced environment to join us.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Help conduct physical examinations of pets
Perform and maintain anesthesia
Knowledge of preventative health care recommendations
Provide veterinarians and coworkers with the correct equipment and instruments needed
Recognize and record any unusual animal behavior
Keep proper identification of each animal
Discharge pets from surgeries or treatment
Assure monitoring devices and support equipment are in good working condition
Knowledge of computer software
Record and maintain inventory items, equipment, and supplies
Help with administrative tasks
Be familiar with other jobs in the hospital
Be professional, friendly, and ethical at all times, even if clients are being difficult
Assist clients as needed
Assist unpacking and stocking hospital supplies
Read and follow protocols from the employee manual
Performing diagnostic tests and x-rays
Preparing animals and instruments for surgery
Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments
Providing emergency first aid or general nursing care
Observing and reporting on the behavior and condition of animals
Restraining animals for examination or treatment
Administering anesthesia and assisting during medical procedures
Collecting and recording animal case histories
Educating animal owners on home care
Keep treatment areas clean and organized
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Veterinary Technician Certification
Available to work weekends and some holidays
Bilingual is a plus, but not required!
Comfortable with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes.
Ability to appropriately & safely restrain (when necessary) fractious pets.
Able to lift 50 lbs, kneel, squat and stand for long periods of time.
Detail oriented with the ability to think clearly and multitask in a busy environment.
Ability to perform basic math accurately.
Have strong client education & communication skills.
Have strong communication skills with business owner and fellow employees.
A team player who is self-motivated is a must!
