The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) seeks a leader for the position of director, School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) and associate dean of the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine (PPVM). The director is directly responsible for oversight of the research, teaching, and extension/outreach programs, including management of the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center, the PPVM – a joint DVM program with Iowa State University, and the Great Plains Veterinary Educational Center. The associate dean is responsible for on-going coordination of the PPVM with students located at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the UNL SVMBS. The director of the SVMBS contributes to the integrated extension, research, and teaching land grant mission of the institution, as an effective scholar and citizen. The director will ensure a culture so all are engaged and thrive, manage finances responsibly using best fiscal practices, foster a diverse team and programs, and lead the SVMBS strategically. Candidates for the position must have DVM and PhD degrees, or DVM and MS degrees with certification in an AVMA-recognized specialty, and a record consistent with appointment as a full professor.
