About the Job: As Veterinary Technician/Assistant you will be responsible for:
Providing excellent client service at all times.
Admitting patients and managing clients throughout their visit.
Partnering with the DVM's to provide excellent medical care by way of assessment, diagnostics, treatments, & procedures.
Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and free fluid.
Upholding an accurate and efficient digital medical record of all patient care.
Ability and knowledge to pro-actively educate clients
Reviewing patient medical records/notes to determine the nature of the visit and suggest any necessary tests or procedures, prepare medications/vaccines, prepare documents, fill and dispense prescriptions as directed by the DVM.
Assist with restraining pets, sterilizing instruments, preparing patients for procedures.

The candidate will possess the following:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant required.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long term positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system.
Excellent typing & keyboarding skills required with a high degree of accuracy.
The ability to work with the DVM’s in an exam room and type all necessary medical information quickly & efficiently.
Knowledge of heartworm preventatives, flea/tick preventatives and the importance of these recommendations.
Maintain upkeep of the exam room and treatment area.
The ability to confidently speak to & educate clients.
Work well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and client service.
Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-paced hospital.
