Ridge Animal Hospital: We are currently a four-doctor busy general practice and in the process of building an addition to accommodate our growth. Dr. Mark French is a talented surgeon who performs many surgeries rarely done in private practice including a variety of orthopedic procedures, hemilaminectomy, perineal urethrostomy, tie-back surgery for laryngeal paralysis, and thyroidectomy in hyperthyroid cats. We have an ultrasound, digital radiographs, and endoscopic diagnostic capabilities as well as a full in-house laboratory. With our expansion, we are looking forward to having a dedicated ultrasound room, more exam rooms and laboratory space as well as a new surgical suite and dental suite with dental radiographs.
Farmville VA: A small town with two colleges and surrounded by rural communities, Farmville offers diverse cultural opportunities and outdoor recreation. Only one hour from Richmond, Petersburg, and Lynchburg and 90 minutes from Charlottesville, Farmville is centrally located on major highways yet keeps its small-town roots. There are ample opportunities for fishing, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, and other outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. Local theater, guest lectures, artisans, festivals, and live music abound, especially in the summer. Downtown Farmville is rich in history and local businesses – it’s a great place to make a home!
Who we are looking for: New graduate or experienced DVM, we are looking for the right combination of service-oriented positive attitude and work ethic. We pride ourselves on being there for clients when they need us and providing the best care possible for each individual client. If you have a strong interest in surgery above and beyond general surgery, this would be a plus but not required.

About The Ridge Animal Hospital
The veterinary profession isn’t like any other—it’s the only field predicated on the love of a patient who can’t tell you what’s hurting and can only look to you for help. It takes a special kind of person to do that job, or the jobs supporting that job. NVA doesn’t create those special people—we find them, cultivate them, and give them resources and opportunities to do what only they can do. Whether treating patients, managing a pet resort, or serving hospitals from NVA’s Support Center, NVA’s animal professionals are caring people, united by a love of animals. NVA is proud to honor that connection and is committed to serving our team members by providing them with the tools, support, and freedom to be the professionals they’ve always wanted to be.
