Support the shelter manager and staff to ensure that the medical needs of the shelter animals are addressed.
Perform routine surgeries and procedures common in general practice with the commitment to practice the highest standards of medicine and uphold the veterinary code of ethics.
Oversee medical care and management of shelter animals and medical fosters with chronic diseases
Ensure accurate medical record-keeping for the shelter animals.
Communicate with specialists and emergency veterinarians when patients need a referral for additional medical care.
Direct, supervise and evaluate vet clinic team members and provide regular feedback and timely performance evaluations.
Responsible for the financial performance of the veterinary clinic, preparing operating and capital budgets, and meeting budget expectations.
Serves as a member of the organization's senior leadership team.
Possesses a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Georgia in good standing and must complete all professional requirements to maintain licensure.
Ability to conduct high-volume, high-quality surgical sterilizations in a fast-paced environment.
Possesses or can obtain a DEA license.
Minimum of two years working experience as a veterinarian. Shelter and high-volume, high-quality veterinary and/or spay-neuter clinic experience are preferred.
Ability to make difficult decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members.
