Veterinary medicine is not just a profession for us, it is a passion to help keep pets healthy so our fellow human beings can experience the unconditional love those pets provide them for the longest period possible.
St. Francis' Pet Hospital is a thriving privately owned practice that has been serving the south-central Indiana community for over 30 years. We receive more appointment requests than we can accommodate and to serve our patients better while maintaining excellent work-life balance for our team, we are looking for new veterinarians to join us!
Our primary focus is small animal medicine, but we would love to grow both the exotics and mixed sides of the practice. We have a great working relationship with the local humane society, 4-H Clubs, and a wildlife rehabber - we see injured wildlife almost weekly. Being privately owned allows for the freedom to practice great medicine without being boxed into corporate policies and gives our team of veterinarians the ability to follow their interests within the field.
We have a loyal client base and when the rare “bad egg” comes in we let them know that under no circumstances will we tolerate poor treatment of our team.
Our veterinarians and technicians have over 100 years of combined experience, and we really enjoy mentoring new veterinarians. We understand that one of the keys to building confident/competent veterinarians is to have a strong support structure without micromanaging or causing anyone to feel belittled.
The Indianapolis area is a fantastic place to live! Not only is the cost of living low, it now plays host to a thriving restaurant, brewery, and entertainment scene. Outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and boating are abundant. The top-rated international airport is close by and offers flights to just about any destination you can think of and due to our location, one can easily choose between city and rural living. One of our clinics is on a working horse farm and has space for self care horse boarding and a large fenced yard for staff owned dogs to play!
We know that new grads sometimes want to move on after a couple of years to explore other opportunities and while we never like to lose a great vet we understand and do not push for long-term contracts unless desired by the veterinarian we hire. If you are interested in committing to a year or more we will pay for your last year of veterinary school!!
