The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. The candidate is expected to begin duties August 2022. Candidates with broad backgrounds in animal and veterinary sciences will be considered, with special preference for candidates having teaching experience. This position will involve teaching undergraduate courses on animal anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Curriculum development, creation of learning resources, student mentoring, and participation in School-level service will also be required. Familiarity with different instructional modalities and One Health applications is also highly desirable. This 9-month academic appointment is a Career Track, non-tenure eligible faculty position with an effort distribution of 90% instruction and 10% service. • The successful candidate for this appointment will teach 18 units (equivalent to 3 courses x 3 units per semester) per academic year (9 months), typically for undergraduate students. Courses will be taught in-person and cover topics on animal anatomy and physiology and animal disease. Instruction will be a mix of independent instruction and team teaching. Examples of specific courses include the following (descriptions can be found in the UA Course Catalog):

• ACBS 400A Animal Anatomy and Physiology

• 400B Animal Anatomy and Physiology

• ACBS 406 Diseases of Companion Animals

• ACBS 449 Diseases of Wildlife

• Design and Develop Additional Core Courses in Animal and Veterinary Sciences

• The successful candidate will have active engagement in curriculum development and be responsible for the creation of innovative learning resources.
