Goldorado Animal Hospital is seeking a Managing Director to join our team in Cameron Park, CA. We are a small animal GP hospital located just outside of Sacramento. Bring your skills and experience and lead our team as we continue to strive towards clinical excellence and compassionate patient care.
We value our team as much as we value the animals we care for. Our Medical Director receives a paid sabbatical of 4 weeks for every 5 years of service as a doctor at our hospital.

Compensation Customized:
Choose your compensation model.
Roughly $150-200k straight salary depending on experience; NO NEGATIVE ACCRUAL.
OR Choose a traditional ProSal model with a base salary and 22% production.
Initial Bonus Opportunities- $20k Sign-on Bonus OR Relocation bonus.

Schedule- Work-life Balance Prioritized:
4 weeks of vacation annually, in addition to dedicated CE days.
PAID sabbatical- Every 5 years of serving as a doctor will earn a 4 week paid sabbatical.
4 day work weeks. NO WEEKENDS and NO on-call.
Realistic shifts- Open 8am – 5pm. Our doctors arrive at 8am and typically wrap their day at 6PM.
Lunch & Catch-up time is built in! We’re closed from 12-1pm.
Flexible appointment lengths- 30 min standard appt times (15 minutes allowable based on your preference).
Hospital Set-Up:
5 exam rooms (includes 1 comfort room for euthanasia) with 1 lift table for big dogs, 1 surgical suite.
Treatment room with dental area.
Digital dental and ultrasound, new x-ray, laser therapy.
Full in-house lab.
Specialists visit onsite to support doctors and patients.
Equipment customized to doctor preferences- CapEx dollars allocated annually for hardware and equipment. Let’s discuss equipment important to you.
Our Team and Guiding Practices:
AAHA accredited
Electronic records – Cornerstone.
Small animal focused GP+: 80/20 dogs to cats predominantly with one doctor also seeing pocket pets.
Currently a 2.5 doctor practice (plus relief), with capacity to increase to 4 doctors.
Daily staffed with 1-3 doctors depending on need.
1 surgery day per week typically. Surgical scheduling customized to doctor preference- no surgery on non-surgical days or increase your surgical days as you like.
All UC/ER needs seen by doctor discretion. All UC/ER requests are handled by our Hospital Manager who scheduled per doctor preference and comfort level.

Qualifications:
Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program.
