Veterinary Specialty Hospitalhas a unique opportunity for a Neurology Hospitalist. This is an opportunity for a small-animal veterinarian currently working in general or emergency practice and interested in working within a dynamic neurology department.
We are looking for a veterinarian with at least 1-2 years of general practice or emergency experience with an interest in neurology to join our team to support our patients through their treatment and care.

We work closely with our specialists, emergency doctors, technicians, client care staff and our referring veterinarians to provide great care to our patients and their human companions.
Skills and Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
Ability to become licensed to practice in the state of California.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, diplomatic attitude.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical schedule is limited to Monday-Friday during normal office hours
Working closely with our neurologist to screen rechecks, follow ups and provide continuity of care for our existing patients. (no new consults)
Overseeing anesthesia for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging with the support of licensed veterinary technicians and neurology intern.
Establish a good rapport with referring veterinarians, including communication; assistance in their professional growth and education through recommendations and interaction on referred and shared cases; ongoing development of a positive and professional working relationship; participation in Continuing Education involving the local referral community.
Assist in the development and training of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Ability to assist with marketing the services of the specialty practice through a variety of outreach programs, some of which include: making hospital visits to referring veterinarians, assisting with local CE meetings, answering calls from referring veterinarians promptly, helping with production of hospital newsletters and case reports.
