Dearborn Animal Hospital, Decatur GA – We are looking for full time RVT and Vet Assistants. We are a busy 7 doctor, small animal practice with emphasis on doctor/ client relationships. Dearborn was started in 1948 in Decatur: we moved into a new, larger, state of the art hospital in November 2013, and we became AAHA accredited in April of 2014. This year we are celebrating 75 years of serving our community!
We are looking for team members that enjoy a fast paced environment, hands on medicine, and the ability to build great relationships with our clients. We have a very diverse clientele, so having the ability to assess the situation and work with the doctor in any situation based on the client is very important.
Our hospital is equipped with digital dental and full body x-ray, Surgivet and Doppler monitors, Heska IV pumps, Tono-pen and in house lab equipment (CBC and Blood chemistry) as well as other diagnostic equipment.
Dearborn Animal HospitalDearborn Animal Hospital has been serving Decatur, Avondale Estates and the Atlanta Metro area since 1948. We are a privately owned hospital with 7 full time doctors. We are a very busy small animal based practice. After 65 years in the same location we have relocated close by, to a new state of the art, larger hospital. We have 6 exam rooms, large treatment area, digital x-ray (dental and full body), in house lab equipment, full hospitalization and boarding facilities. The average tenure of our vets is 10+ years with our newest associate graduating 1 years ago. Our associates work on average 4 days (35 scheduled hours) a week and every other Saturday. We set one appointment every 1/2 hour and take walk-in appointments from 9 – 5:30 so over 30% of our office visits are walk-ins. Our surgery and appointment schedule are booked out about two to three weeks but we are always ready for emergencies and plan accordingly. We have a very diverse client base, varying from people who know very little about pet care or medical care to Emory Medical School Professors, from people on public assistance to people who have no financial limits for pet care. We also w...ork with several rescue groups and clients that bring in animals that they have found. We stress owner education as well as preventive care during all of our office visits. We want our clients to build relationships with our hospital as well as the doctors, and are on the third generation of some families bringing their pets to us. We are a higher volume / lower cost practice and we can be very busy, even hectic at times. We strive to keep costs practical as we can so as to not price patients out of the care they need. The practice has been privately owned since 1948. Dr. Ellington is the current owner and has been at the practice for over 20 years and the owner for the past 11 years, during which we have seen continued growth in the practice and continue to make improvements to the practice under her direction.
