Niwot Veterinary Clinic was bought by Dr. Patrick Kalenzi in 2017. Born in Uganda to Rwandese refugee Tutsi parents, he began life in a world of segregation, civil war, and abject poverty. Unable to return to the war-torn place of his origin at the time—and plagued by violent discrimination in his adopted country—he fought to find safe haven. As a child, the only constants were his grandfather, and their cows and dogs. Because of his Grandpa’s wisdom and their bond, he decided to pursue their love of animals as his profession. This is why he became a veterinarian.
For more on his story, please check out his book! Available on Amazon. Dr. Kalenzi studied Veterinary medicine at Makerere University, Uganda; one of the best universities in Africa. He moved to America to advance his training with an internship in Kentucky and to give his family a better life. He took the American Veterinary Association required tests; ECFVG/AVMA (at Mississippi State University) to get licensed in the USA.
Now Dr. Kalenzi owns two veterinary practices and incorporates his love for animals in both of his practices
"Rock Creek Veterinary Hospital" as well as its sister clinic "Niwot Veterinary Clinic" where he regularly practices at both locations.
