Apollo Beach Animal Hospital is located in Apollo Beach Florida just 20 minutes south of Tampa. We are offering 2 positions for senior veterinary students for a 2 week externship. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about a general small animal practice. We are working to renew our fear free certification and strive to provide high quality medicine, excellent communication and service to our clients all while providing the best experience possible for our pets. Participants in the extern program would be able to experience how an everyday small animal practice is run. It would be an excellent opportunity to learn more regarding general wellness exams, evaluate and treat under supervision of veterinarian sick and hospitalized patients, draw blood, place IV catheters, assist in surgical procedures, observe ultrasound procedures. I will have housing available May23  28th through July 10th if needed. 

4th year veterinary student

Our clinic is located 15 miles south of Tampa in a quaint town built around canals that lead to Tampa Bay. Outdoor activities including boating, fishing, and golfing which are abundant. We have modern in-house equipment including digital radiographs (regular and dental), Abaxis cbc and chemistry machines, electrosurgical unit, class 4 laser, CryoPen and more. We are a fear free practice using treats and low stress handling techniques.
