Dogs and Cats Emergency and Specialty , located in Bowie, MD, is currently seeking a full-time ICU Managing (Hospitalist) Veterinarian to join its successful, growing team! This person will work with the emergency team, assisting in the intake and management of hospitalized emergency patients, creating and recommending treatment plans, maintaining and updating medical records and facilitating transfers to the appropriate specialty service as needed.
The ideal candidate will be internship trained or have at least two years of professional experience as DVM prior to their application with DCES. We are interested in candidates who are collaborative, friendly, and compassionate. We have an amazing team of CSR's, Assistants, and Technicians that will support your efforts in providing the best treatment and care to our patients and clients.
The ICU Managing Veterinarian will work directly with our emergency and critical care team. Their primary responsibility will be to receive transfers from the emergency veterinarians that require hospitalization. Patients may be transferred the same day, the following day, or may be discharged by hospitalist on the following day. Secondary responsibility would include receiving minor follow up appointments that come through as “same day emergencies” as well as low acuity emergencies (i.e., urgent care).
