Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) is excited to announce the opening of a brand-new Hospital in West Springfield, MA in early 2023. We are looking for a Veterinary Hospitalist who wants to help us create and nurture a world class practice in our state-of-the-art facility.
About this role
The Veterinary Hospitalist will work directly with our emergency and critical care team. Their primary responsibility will be to receive transfers from the emergency veterinarians that require hospitalization. Patients may be transferred the same day, the following day, or may be discharged by hospitalist on the following day.
Secondary responsibility would include receiving minor follow-up appointments that come through as “same day emergencies” as well as low acuity emergencies (i.e., urgent care). Duties will include assisting in the intake and management of hospitalized emergency patients, creating and recommending treatment plans, maintaining and updating medical records and facilitating transfers to the appropriate specialty service as needed.
The ideal candidate will be internship-trained or have at least two years of professional experience as an emergency DVM prior to their application with VESH. We are interested in candidates who are collaborative, friendly, and compassionate. We have an amazing team of CSR's, Assistants, and Technicians that will support your efforts in providing the best treatment and care to our patients and clients.

Our brand new, 12,000 sq ft facility will feature a brand new helical CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, ICU, in-house lab, full blood services, and much more!
