At Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty, we cultivate an atmosphere of continuous learning, diversity, unity, and growth. Our culture is built on four foundational values: Compassion, Collaboration, Education, and Integrity. We strive to infuse these values into every aspect of our work, from our daily interactions with clients to the programs and initiatives we implement.
We take pride in being a teaching hospital and fostering the next generation of veterinary professionals. Externs and mentees are always welcome, and we seize every opportunity to facilitate learning and collaboration within our team.
What sets us apart is our unique multi-departmental structure. We house six specialty departments under one roof: Neurology, Oncology, Radiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and ER/ICU (Ophthalmology coming December 2023!). This structure facilitates exceptional cross-collaboration and learning, allowing for daily morning huddles with experts from different fields to make informed, comprehensive medical decisions for our patients. Instead of having to call a specialist for advice, you can simply walk down the hallway.
When it comes to wellness, we don't just talk the talk; we walk the walk. To promote well-being, we have instituted an active Wellness Program. Recognizing the unique mental health challenges of the veterinary profession, we also have a full-time, on-site veterinary social worker to support the needs of our team and clients.
Additionally, we understand the importance of celebration, recognition, and diversity, and these are key aspects of our culture. Our unique Reward Program serves to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our team, offering bespoke rewards that reflect their meaningful contributions. We also demonstrate our commitment to diversity and unity through monthly engagement activities, which serve as platforms to celebrate our diverse backgrounds, encourage personal growth, and create joyful and fun-filled spaces. This dedication to our team's well-being and continuous development nurtures a vibrant work environment, fostering a sense of value and inspiration in everyone, motivating them to always strive for their best.
