We pay for each of our veterinarians to attend the Advanced Dentistry and Oral Surgery courses in Colorado Springs, CO, for which you will receive your own set of brand new oral surgical instruments. This is in addition to your yearly CE stipend.
About the Team
We have a 5 to 1 support staff to doctor ratio, which allows our team to focus on individualized patient care. Every member of our team is Fear Free Certified to provide the calmest environment for our patients and humans alike. We have a dedicated client liaison position to handle daily callbacks and client communication.
Our priority is to foster a collaborative environment, where case discussion is encouraged, and case management is shared. We have formal DVM meetings each month to discuss the latest journal articles, but our group office encourages ongoing case rounds throughout the day. Our team atmosphere means we are uniquely situated to mentor new veterinarians, as there is always someone available to lend a helping hand.
We frequently organize optional hospital-wide activities outside of work. Past activities have included attending a game of New Mexico United Soccer, Friday night volleyball league, paint and sip night, a company wide picnic, and a family night at the Electric Playhouse.
About the Practice
Aztec Animal Clinic is housed in the historic Nob Hill district of Albuquerque, NM. We were founded in 1990 as a single doctor practice and we now have multi-generational ownership. Our vaulted ceilings and countless windows fill our building with natural light year-round. We host a weekly puppy socialization class, which serves to desensitize our patients to the veterinary environment.
Finally, as a veterinarian at our facility, you will have access to digital ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, dedicated operating room, extensive monitoring equipment for anesthetized patients (i.e doppler blood pressure monitoring, capnography, etc), benchside laboratory testing, an extensive pharmacy, and much more.

Aztec Animal Clinic has provided the best in veterinary care to the pets and families of Albuquerque since 1990. We built a new 5500-square-foot facility in the historic Nob Hill District in 1998, and since then have grown from one veterinarian and a staff of two to over 30 team members.
We attribute our growth and consistent high levels of service, care, and employee satisfaction to the fact that we support our staff. What that means for us is open lines of communication, a commitment to achieving work-life balance that’s not just lip service, and a high support-staff-to-doctor ratio. We’ve also stepped up to become a certified Fear Free clinic and we make continuing education a priority.
We also love the community of Albuquerque, which is progressive, affordable, and enjoys an amazing 310 days of sun per year on average. Home of the world-famous Balloon Fiesta, this is a place of stunning natural beauty including the Red Rocks of Gallup, Jemez Mountains, and four distinct seasons. It really is, as our license plates say, “The Land of Enchantment”.
