Meet Our Medical Director: Dr. Marla Saltzman Dr. Marla Saltzman, our esteemed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, brings over 25 years of veterinary experience to Amici Pet Hospital. Born and raised on the East Coast, Dr. Saltzman attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for her undergraduate degree and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 1991. Her extensive career includes practicing in North County and Downtown San Diego, where she honed her skills in internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and general surgery. In 2013, she fulfilled her dream by opening Amici Pet Hospital, where she continues to lead with a vision of excellence in pet care.

Cutting-Edge Equipment: We’re a fully paperless practice, equipped with advanced tools like the K Laser and Butterfly Ultrasound, ensuring you have everything you need to provide top-tier care.

Our Patient Base: Serving an exclusively small animal clientele, our practice is deeply rooted in the pet-friendly, affluent neighborhood of Little Italy, where walking to the clinic with your furry friends is the norm.

Meet Our Team: You’ll be joining a supportive and skilled team, including 2-3 techs/assistants per doctor and a licensed RVT. One of our doctors is even pursuing ABVP certification, highlighting our commitment to continued learning and excellence.

Your New Doctor Opportunity:

• Enjoy a balanced four-day work week (8:30 am—5:30 pm) with just one Saturday per month and a dedicated surgery morning each week.
• There are no after-hours or on-call requirements, allowing you to enjoy life outside of work.
