Lake Dow Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! We are a small animal only 3 doctor practice located in suburban McDonough, GA. Our practice is open Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am to 12:00pm. No overnights or major holidays. Our Full Time position is 4 days a week and rotating Saturdays.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Perform routine laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, etc.) and take radiographs
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health
- Educate pet owners on proper care and nutrition
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient files
- Manage inventory and equipment maintenance
- Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
Qualifications for Position:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician is required
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively
- Must be able to lift and restrain both dogs and cats of all sizes
